DOC Luanda: “Para Lá dos Meus Passos” earns Kamy Lara the award for best director

Director Kamy Lara won the award for best film, with the documentary “Para Lá dos Meus Passos”. The award was awarded this Thursday at the first edition of the International Documentary Film Festival (DOC Luanda).

The angolan was awarded in the national competition of the event for the production of the documentary.

In the international competition, the award for best film was given to Agostino Ferrante, with the production "Selfie", writes Angop.

It should be noted that an honorable mention was also given to filmmaker Gretel Marim, with the film "Um Sopro no Quintal".

DOC Luanda had the participation of 30 films, national and international, divided into three sessions: national competition, international competition and non-competitive session.

According to Angop, nine works by young national directors participated in the national competition. The international team had six from Angola, Portugal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Italy, South Africa and the United States.

The non-competitive session was attended by productions from Angola, Brazil, Algeria, Guinea-Bissau and Portugal.

The event also featured other activities, including an exhibition on national cinema, a book and music fair as well as a tribute to Gita Cerveira.
