In a statement sent to Lusa, MEA "demands the repeal" of presidential decree 124/20 of 4 May, which aggravates the increase in tuition fees and fees in educational institutions.
According to the student association, the "constant increase in tuition and fees in private institutions and the constant violations of students' rights, as well as the lack of quality of education in public and private institutions" are some of the motives of the demonstration.
For MEA, the lack of conditions in public and private institutions is one of the reasons for the precariousness of education in Angola.
In Luanda, the protest march must leave the square of the cemetery of Santa Ana to the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, in the center of the capital, where a "claim manifesto" should be read by the students.
MEA, which wants an "orderly and peaceful" demonstration, invites all students, parents and guardians and individuals to join the march of 17 April next.
