Pre-school education reopens as of April 5th

Preschool education will reopen as of April 5, according to a presidential decree updating the measures to prevent and combat covid-19, published Friday in the Official Gazette.

Thus, from April 5 is authorized the resumption of teaching activities in preschool education, in all educational institutions and teaching in the country, as well as the opening of cafeterias for the exclusive use of preschool education.

The measure covers public and private educational establishments of the National Education System, the educational institutions of Foreign States and the International Schools that operate in Angolan territory.

The diploma also introduces changes in the special quarantine regime, which is dispensed "in short term official trips not exceeding 72 hours.

In addition, "the Ministry of Health may define a special quarantine regime or determine its exemption in cases of state trips or for professional and business reasons, whenever the nature of the activity justifies it for reasons of urgency or relevant public interest.

In total, Angola totals 22,063 cases of covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 20,289 recovered, 1241 active (including 9 critical and seven severe) and 533 deaths.
