A statement from the multinational of the United States of America, distributed to the press, emphasizes that the amount provided is also intended to support the opportunities for economic development of women and preserve the Palanca Negra Gigante, a national symbol.

Financial assistance will be provided through projects by non-governmental organizations, namely Aid for People to People Development (ADPP), Africare, CORE Group, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Counterpart International / WomenLead and Kissama Foundation.

"We believe that our commitment to these social programs in Angola helps to promote positive change in local communities and improve people's lives," said Kevin Murphy, president of the ExxonMobil Foundation, quoted in the statement.

ExxonMobil is one of the largest private contributors in the fight against malaria in Angola and since 2003 the ExxonMobil Foundation has supported with more than US $ 35 million the financing of programs to eradicate malaria, a preventable and treatable disease.

With regard to support for women, the North American oil company stresses the work of ADPP and Counterpart International to promote and equip this group with tools, "to make a difference in the social and economic development of their families and communities" .

ExxonMobil continues to support the conservation efforts of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment for the preservation of the Palanca Negra Gigante, through its contribution to the Kissama Foundation's research program, now in its fifteenth year.

"Since we started our operations in Angola's Block 15 in 1994, we have been committed to supporting the country's long-term economic and social development," said Melissa Bond, general director of ExxonMobil Angola, cited in the note.

Contributions for 2021 were secured by the ExxonMobil Foundation and Exxon Mobil Corporation, the document clarifies, noting that ExxonMobil has already invested more than US $ 100 million in community programs in Angola.
