According to the police report on the public security situation in the past 72 hours, material damage was recorded as a result of accidents estimated at more than 13 million kwanzas.
Of the total number of accidents, the police indicated that 14 were due to being run over, "presumably, as a result of the lack of precaution of public road users". In this situation more than 20 citizens were victims, some lost their lives and others were seriously injured.
Within the scope of regularization and inspection of motor traffic, the police authorities seized one vehicle and 24 motorcycles, having sanctioned 240 motorists with fines for various violations of the Highway Code.
The police also pointed out in their report that, in the period under review, they seized nine firearms, including five AKM machine guns and four pistols, recovering a vehicle and detaining 99 citizens, presumed perpetrators of various crimes.
