"We need to improve the mechanisms for processing documents for the granting of various migratory acts to foreigners, thus reducing some bureaucracy and delays that still exist, because we cannot admit that a citizen waits more than 90 days to see their migratory situation regularized", said the minister, in the ceremonies to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME).
Eugénio Laborinho also pointed out the contribution made by the simplification of entry visas in Angola for the "good business environment and tourism", with a view to attracting greater foreign investment and encouraged the SME to "do its best to fulfill this aim. ".
In this context, the official stressed that the SME technicians, who issue opinions and work in the evaluation of requests for diplomatic and consular missions, must have the domain of the law and "ability to interpret the economic cost that a possible negligence in reading the context can have for the country's economy, as the attraction of potential entrepreneurs or tourists also depends on the work developed by SME technicians ".
The holder of the portfolio of the Interior stressed that the approval of a new organic regulation of the SME, which will allow a greater capacity of response at the organizational level in the management of migratory flows, as well as the new legal regime on the passport, is underway and "is in the portfolio the implementation of the new remuneration statute ".
Eugénio Laborinho also said that the inauguration of the SME provincial directorate building in Benguela is foreseen and 22 buildings are being constructed that include operating areas for these services.
