The meeting will take place, in virtual form, in Luanda, with Angola currently occupying the leadership of the PALOP Forum and at the summit on Tuesday it will be rotated in the rotating presidency by the Republic of Cape Verde, according to a note from the Civil House of President João Lourenço.
The agenda of the Forum, a mechanism for consultation of the PALOP, includes the appraisal and approval of the resolution that formalizes the accession of the Republic of Timor-Leste to an observer member of this organ and another resolution that makes the Republic of Equatorial Guinea a full member, among other points.
Equatorial Guinea, a former Spanish colony, joined the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) in 2014, joining Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste.
