This Friday, at the beginning of the work, the National Assembly held a minute's silence for the death of the President of Chad, Idriss Déby Itno, repeating the tribute, about half an hour later, in memory of the victims of the rains in Luanda.

At the opening of the 7th plenary session of the fourth legislative session of the IV legislature of the National Assembly, after asking for a minute's silence in memory of Idriss Itno, the president of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, continued with the reading of a request from the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA).

UNITA asked to hold a discussion on "The Role of Social Communication in Building Democratic Rule of Law", before the order of business.

Then, the vote on this request followed, which was unanimously approved, with 181 votes in favor, the vote on the agenda with 16 points, and reading of announcements and files of the National Assembly.

About half an hour after the plenary session opened, and before the discussion of the topic proposed by the UNITA parliamentary group began, the President of the National Assembly offered condolences to the families of the victims of the torrential rains of last Monday in Luanda, which provoked 24 deaths and thousands of displaced people, followed by a minute of silence.
