Covid-19: Angola registered 129 more cases and one death

Angola has recorded 129 new cases of covid-19, one death, and 47 people recovered from the disease, in the last 24 hours, health authorities said Wednesday.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, the country registered 112 cases in Luanda, five in Cabinda, the same number in Huíla, two in Benguela, one in Bengo and the same number in Malanje, Namibe, Uíge and Zaire, aged between 9 and 73 years.

The reported death refers to a national citizen, 66 years old, in Luanda, while 47 people were considered recovered from the disease, from 14 to 85 years old, also in the country's capital.

With the data provided, the country totals 22,311 infections, 537 of which resulted in deaths, and 20,493 recoveries, with 1281 active cases, of which six in critical condition, seven severe, 39 moderate, 32 mild and 1197 asymptomatic.

In the last 24 hours, laboratories processed 1695 samples by RT-PCR, pointing the cumulative to 430,186 processed samples, with a positivity rate of 5.2 percent.

In the points of entry and exit of Luanda, during the period in question, 715 people underwent rapid serological tests, with the complementation of the antigen in reactive cases.

At this time, 84 patients are hospitalized and 26 people are in institutional quarantine, as well as 1500 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,805,004 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 128.1 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
