Central bank registered 510 complaints against financial institutions in the first quarter

Banco Nacional de Angola (BNA) received 510 complaints in the first quarter of this year, 105 less than the same period in 2020, however, the delay in transfers remains the biggest concern presented by customers.

According to the balance of Complaints submitted to the National Bank of Angola in the first quarter of 2021, in January it was when customers had the most complaints, mainly about transfers (103), followed by demand deposits (107) and consumer credit (40).

With regard to complaints about transfers filed against financial institutions, the reasons are linked to the operation not carried out / recognized, the length of the operation and the non-availability of values ​​to the beneficial owner.

Regarding demand deposit accounts, complaints have to do with improper handling, non-availability of cash and commissions / expenses made by banks.

The list of financial institutions with the most complaints is led by the Bank of Savings and Credit (BPC), with 168 of the total criticisms presented, with regard to demand deposit accounts, transfers and ATM machines, followed by the Bank de Fomento Angola (BFA), also with the first two problems of the BPC and operations abroad.
