Community leaders in training will raise awareness and inform about covid-19

The Angolan Network of Civil Society Organizations for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Services (Anaso) and the Luanda Health Office are training 200 community actors on covid-19, aiming at "greater local awareness".

The information was transmitted to Lusa by the executive president of Anaso, António Coelho, who said that the training cycle aims to train community leaders for subsequent integration in 25 community brigades in the nine municipalities of Luanda.

According to the official, the community brigades that will result from the training, which ends this Thursday, "will develop integrated health awareness actions to improve information", as well as "the knowledge of people, families and communities about the measures prevention measures against covid-19 ".

"Don't give Carona ao Corona" is the motto of the training cycle, which has been running since last Thursday at the Technical School of Health of Calawenda, municipality of Cazenga.

This Wednesday Angola enters the 13th day of the state of emergency, with 15 days that can be extended, a measure decreed by President João Lourenço on 27 March last, as a way to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.
