It is as yet unclear who was responsible for the acts of vandalism. However, according to the Jornal de Angola, around 7000 people have been affected. According to the same publication, the acts of vandalism have affected the entire energy supply network.
This Tuesday, the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, visited the site. The Secretary of State for Energy was also present at the visit.
According to the same newspaper, the visitor, who was analyzing the damage, met with several residents of Kilamba, and left an appeal: that these acts should be denounced to be eradicated for good.
Admitting that this situation will cause millions of kwanzas of damage to the National Electricity Distribution Company (ENDE-EP), the governor concluded by asking that it be brief in restoring the service and to be alert to any suspicious situation.
