Privatisation of seven assets delivers 19 billion kwanzas to the State

The privatisation of seven assets yielded the state 19 billion kwanzas. The adjudication contracts were signed this Tuesday by the Institute of Management of Assets and State Participation (IGAPE) - under PROPRIV - which revealed that the assets relate to agricultural and agro-industrial enterprises.

In a statement to which VerAngola had access, the Ministry of Finance revealed that the assets were acquired by five companies under Angolan law: Grupo FF Empreendimentos, Fazenda Pérolas do Kikuxi, Telgest, Sociedade Agropecuária do Bailundo and Grupo Edson Droves.

"The FF Empreendimentos Group signed the contract for the acquisition of Camaiangala Agro-Industrial Farm, located in Moxico Province", having paid around 9700 million kwanzas, explained the note.

The remaining four companies acquired the Model Slaughterhouses of Luanda, Camabatela and Porto Amboim, the Silos Complex of Catete, the Caxito Cold Warehouse and the Tomato and Banana Processing Plant of Caxito.

The acquisition of these assets resulted in a total of 8900 million kwanzas.

At the signing session of the contracts, the Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury and Permanent Technical Coordinator of PROPRIV, Osvaldo João, said that the signing of these contracts symbolizes "confidence in the future".

"The assets whose contracts have been signed are part of the Executive's privatisation programme, a programme that will continue to benefit from investor confidence. This confidence is evident, for example, in the fact that none of the assets have been sold below 80 per cent of the reference price - and one of them has even surpassed the bidding base," he added.
