The ceremony, which took place at the Ngola Kiluanje II Cycle School, in Largo das Escolas, in Luanda, was presided over by the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo. In addition to the venue that hosted the ceremony, the following schools will benefit from these works: Ngola Kiluanje, Juventude e Luta, Escola Comercial de Luanda, Njinga Bandi, Escola Especial do Rangel, Complexo Escolar do Benfica and Primeiro de Maio.

The contract to begin the works was signed between the Ministry of Education (MED) and the construction companies Cascais Angola, Griner, Urban Lab, Omatapalo and BS Projectos. Speaking to Angop, the general director of Casais Angola, Álvaro Fernandes, revealed that the works on the Ngola Kanini, Ngola Kiluanje and 1.º de Maio schools are budgeted at 60 billion kwanzas. The official also said that the works will involve around 700 national workers.

According to a note from the MED to which VerAngola had access, the schedule for the physical execution of the works indicates that completion should occur between 12 and 18 months, when the educational institutions should be available to students "fully rehabilitated, equipped and equipped with modern materials, adapted to real needs".

Luísa Grilo stated that this act reveals "the concern of the President of the Republic with the Education sector", contributing to the achievement of the objectives defined in the National Development Plan 2023-2027.

The head of the Education department also expressed her satisfaction in considering that this involves the rehabilitation of emblematic schools, which are part of the history of education in the country, since most of them were built in the 1960s. The municipal director of Education, Joana Torres, said that the students from these schools were transferred to other nearby schools that had available periods, ensuring that no child was left out of the education system.
