The list of players called up, released this Tuesday by the national coach in a press conference, is made up of goalkeepers Neblú, Dominique and Nsesane Simão.
They are joined by defenders António Hossi, Tó Carneiro, Bastos, Clinton Mata, David Carmo, Quinito, Kialonda Gaspar, Pedro Bondo and Sandro Cruz.
Midfielders Fredy, Maestro, Beni Mukendi, Keliano and Domingos Andrade were also called up, as well as forwards Zine, André Vidigal, Afimico Pululu, Mabululu, Gilberto, Milson, Chico Banza, Gelson Dala, Mbala Nzola and Manuel Benson.
In this list of players called up, one of the new features is the return of Beni Mukendi to the national team, after having been absent from the squad since the last African Nations Championship, in Ivory Coast, according to Jornal de Angola.
In addition to Mukendi, Manuel Benson, who was out of action due to an injury sustained in 2024, and Chico Banza, who plays for the Portuguese team Portimonense, also return.
The call-up also highlights two players who could make their debut for the 'Palancas Negras', André Vidigal and Afimico Pululu, if they play against Libya and Cape Verde.
Absent from the lineup are Show and Zito Luvumbo, due to injury, as well as Kaporal. Ary Papel is also not among those called up, after showing himself to be unavailable, according to national coach Pedro Gonçalves.
"As is known, at this moment, after four rounds, the 'Palancas Negras' have six points, we are in fourth place in the standings, two points behind Cameroon in first place, knowing that we still have six rounds ahead and we have a difficult task, but we believe that by winning the six games we have one certainty, we are in the world cup", said Pedro Gonçalves, in the press conference.
Thus, he said that the fifth and sixth rounds, to be played against Libya and Cape Verde, "will be with two opponents who currently have one more point" than Angola. "They have exactly the same ambitions as us, but what we want is to be able to overcome our opponents and get six points that will give us the probability or possibility of actually reaching the end of this qualification and getting our passport to the football world cup," he added.
The working group under the orders of the national coach will meet on the 16th, in Lisbon, to begin preparations.
On the 18th of the same month, they will travel to Benghazi, where they will face their Libyan counterparts, and five days later, they will host the Cape Verdean team in Luanda.
