These professional education establishments related to the hotel sector aim to train staff in this sector, aiming to improve the quality of services in hotel and tourist units in Angola, explained the general director of the institute, in statements at the end of a visit and Mbanza Kongo (Zaire), cited by Angop.

Making specific reference to Mbanza Kongo, the person in charge said it was necessary to improve the services provided in local businesses in the hotel sector, as well as expand accommodation capacity in order to respond to demand.

He therefore considered that "increasing attention should be paid to the city of Mbanza Kongo, which is the only one with World Heritage status" in the country.

"We must pay more and more attention to the city of Mbanza Kongo, which is the only one with World Heritage status in our country. Mbanza Kongo is a city that belongs not only to Angolans, but also to foreign tourists who visit this historic center", he said, quoted by Angop.

On the occasion, he recalled the recent approval of the Tourism Promotion Plan (Planatur), as well as pointing out the growth in the number of tourists interested in visiting the country since visa exemptions for citizens of 98 countries were implemented.

"The balance we can make is positive. Since the country began granting visa exemptions to citizens of 98 nations, the number of foreign tourists in Angola has increased significantly", he said, having also informed that a cruise ship with 120 tourists is expected to dock in the country on the 4th of next month.
