President of Rwanda travels to Angola to discuss situation in DRC

Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, is scheduled to arrive in Angola this Monday. The visit, which will last just a few hours, takes place at the invitation of João Lourenço and will serve to talk about the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The Rwandan president is expected to land in Luanda this Monday morning. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – cited by Angop – Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will receive the Rwandan head of state at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport.

The situation in Eastern DRC will be one of the topics on the conversation table between João Lourenço and Paul Kagame.

It should be noted that at the end of last month, the President of the Republic held a meeting, in Angola, with his counterpart from the DRC, Félix Tshilombo, also to address the security situation in the east of the DRC.

It is recalled that, during the month of February, when the head of state was in Ethiopia to participate in the 37th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, João Lourenço, on the sidelines of the summit, worked with his counterparts about the situation in the DRC.
