According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the president of Namibia arrived in Luanda this Monday morning.

"Shortly after arriving in the Angolan capital, the president of the neighboring country went to Cidade Alta where he met with the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço", the note reads.

According to the statement, "the relations of cooperation and good neighborliness that characterize the links on the Luanda-Windhoek axis were on the table".

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to which VerAngola had access, upon his arrival, Nangolo Mbumba was received at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by Téte António.

"The reception committee included Manuel Homem, governor of the province of Luanda, Jovelina Imperial, Ambassador of Angola to Namibia and Ambassador António Luvualu de Carvalho, while on the Namibian side it was represented by Peya Mushelenga, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Patrick Nandago, Ambassador of Namibia to Angola, among other senior diplomatic officials from both countries", the note reads.

In addition to the meeting with João Lourenço, the Namibian head of state's work program also includes visiting economic enterprises located in Luanda.

It is recalled that Nangolo Mbumba assumed the presidency of Namibia recently, "following the death of President Hage Gottfried Geingob on February 4th, at the age of 82, due to illness", and "Angola is the first country he visited in status of Head of State".
