Government hands inspection of the railway branch of the new airport to the Lebanese Dar

The government removed the Portuguese company A1V2 from supervising the construction of the railway access to the New Luanda International Airport, a contract that will now be handed over to the Lebanese Dar.

:

According to presidential order 45/23, to which Lusa had access, the inspection entity was "absent from the work for a long period" and expressed "unavailability to resume work" after being notified by the owner of the work (the Ministry of Transport), which led to the appointment of an internal inspection committee.

The contract, worth 160 million dollars, according to information consulted on the Portuguese company's website, had been signed in 2016.

"In view of the complexity of the contract, it is urgent to hire a new specialized inspection entity, with technical capacity to the size of the work, in order to guarantee the full execution of the project, in accordance with the requirements and standards required, thus replacing the entity previously contracted", the diploma reads.

The order authorizes an expenditure in the global amount of 682.5 million kwanzas, the contract being awarded via simplified contracting (direct adjustment) to Dar Angola of Lebanese origin.
