The equipment will be delivered this Wednesday by the Interministerial Commission for the Congo Basin.
Cited by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), Mbizi Mbunda, responsible for the National Maritime Agency, explained that the country was chosen to host this experience: "Angola was chosen to serve as a pilot experience".
According to the official, the commission "came to find out how we are at this level of managing this project and this equipment will be symbolically delivered", he explained, adding that "here the focus is mainly on the province of Zaire, specifically on the Soyo, where the observatory will be installed to manage navigation along that river".
The official also made it known, quoted by RNA, that "obstacles that may negatively influence river navigation" will be observed.
Mbizi Mbunda also considered that the project will bring benefits, namely, the facilitation "the transport of passengers along that river".
The official also indicated that there are boats adapted to circulate in this type of river and that they will "benefit from this support", as well as from advice and training of the crew.
