New platform that promises to reduce the price of the basic food basket in the country will be launched this month

An Angolan platform will be launched in the second half of this month that promises to reduce the price of the basic food basket in the country. Called 'Leke', this tool will link brands, producers and distributors of basic food products to retailers in the formal and informal market.

:

"Leke, the first B2B platform [Business to Business - the name given to electronic commerce with respect to commercial transactions between companies] for the purchase and sale of products from the country's basic basket. The platform connects brands, producers and distributors of products from basic basket to retailers in the formal and informal market", can be read in a statement sent to VerAngola.

The platform was founded by Adriano da Paixão N'vula, who considers that there are several aspects that contribute to the increase in the prices of basic food products "in addition to the macroeconomic factors already known in the market".

In the list of aspects that influence the rise in prices, the excess of intermediaries in the purchase process from the supplier to the final consumer is highlighted, where "each actor imposes a profit margin that ends up inflating the price of the product for the final consumer" as well as the difficulties of small producers in accessing the consumer market, who end up losing "tons of products", causing "a deficit of products" and reducing supply.

Also noteworthy is the centralization of the supplier market: the capital continues to be the main supplier market in the country, but "several traders outside Luanda have found it difficult to access the best offers from suppliers", and "this centralization makes prices of the most expensive products outside Luanda", the note said.

Thus, 'Leke' intends to combat these problems by linking all those involved in the process of buying and selling basic basket goods.

"We believe that technology has a great relevance in reducing the prices of basic basket products and Leke, as a digital platform, will give our merchants the possibility to gain the power of choice, open access to a range of market offers with more accessible prices, and the 18 provinces of our country will have access to all products produced in our country", explains the note.

"This openness and simplification of the buying and selling processes will allow merchants to acquire products at more affordable prices so that the end consumer spends less on purchases", completes the statement.
