Portugal was Angola's second largest supplier in the second quarter of 2021

Portugal was Angola's second largest supplier, after China, in the second quarter of 2021, reaching a commercial value of 214 billion kwanzas, according to the quarterly report approved this Thursday by parliament.

The report on the execution of the General State Budget (OGE) for the second quarter of 2021, approved by parliament, states that Portugal's participation was 6 percent, representing an increase of 17 percent compared to the same period in 2020. .

China was Angola's main supplier in this period, reaching a commercial value of 276 billion kwanzas, which represented a share of around eight percent of the total supplied.

The Chinese participation in the referred quarter resulted in an increase of 86 percent in relation to the same period of the previous year.

At least five countries, namely Italy, India, Togo, Argentina and Hong Kong significantly increased their supplies to Angola in this period, compared to the previous one.

The document presented to parliament on Wednesday by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, was approved after its discussion, following the sixth extraordinary plenary meeting concerning the fifth legislative session of the fourth legislature.

According to the report, in the quarter under review, the country's capital revenues amounted to 774.7 billion kwanza, corresponding to an execution of 12 percent of the estimated annual value and a share of total revenue for the quarter of 24 Percent.

Revenues from disposals recorded a collection of around 8.3 billion kwanzas, representing a significant increase above 100 percent, compared to the same period in the previous year, and an execution of 5 percent compared to the total estimated value.

The deputies also approved, in this plenary session that ended, the draft resolution for the ratification of the Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Angola and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the field of Security and Public Order.

The draft resolution approving, for ratification, the protocol between the Ministry of Interior and the Police Department of the Republic of South Africa on police cooperation and the draft approving the ratification of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human Rights and of Peoples on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Africa were also adopted at this session.
