The challenge is open to all entrepreneurs and developers in the country, as well as Angolans residing in the diaspora. The contest gives the possibility to competitors to present their projects individually or in groups of up to five elements, being mandatory the submission of a functional prototype/product already launched on the market (such as a mobile application, website or other digital technology).
Created in 2016, as 'Unitel Apps', the 'Unitel Go Challenge' aims to be a Digital Business competition due to the fact that 70 percent of the evaluation criterion is linked to business management, such as the operationalization of the business and the constitution of teams with economic viability, says the telecommunications operator in a statement sent to VerAngola.
The Go Challenge has the premise that "any programmer can develop a Front Office, but only a robust Startup can develop a sustainable business".
Among the participation requirements, the following stand out: permission to use any development program; submission of an explanatory video of less than 16 MB, up to one minute long, where the operation of the Digital Business is demonstrated and presentation of a document with the functional description (PowerPoint or PDF) based on the template available on the Unitel website.
The developed project must be sent to the e-mail address gochallenge@unitel.co.ao between the 10th of March and the 15th of April for the screening process for the following phases until the final classification.
Winning projects will be forwarded to the WebSummit Pitch Competition in November, where they will be exposed to investors from around the world.
The winner will receive four million kwanzas, the possibility of online participation in WebSummit 2022, up to five laptops, one year of free telecommunications, dissemination in Unitel and partners communication channels and one year of mentoring with Unitel professionals and partners.
