Angola, which shone and dominated the competition's podium, snatched 23 gold medals, 18 silver and five bronze.

According to Jornal de Angola, national athletes prevailed in the Brazilian-style and traditional-style competitions.

The athletes who won the first place on the podium, according to the same newspaper, will receive 9000 dollars each. Second place winners will receive 6000 dollars and third place winners will receive 4000 dollars.

In second place in the competition was the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), winning 10 medals: two gold, four silver and four bronze. The third position was occupied by Mauritius, with six medals (two gold, one plate and three bronze), followed by Ethiopia, with three medals (one silver and two bronze).

About the championship, the African champion Leonel Sadrake "Terramoto" regretted the weak competitive level. Speaking to Angop, the athlete said that although he won, he does not feel fulfilled because he only fought against fellow countrymen, because of the withdrawal of the countries initially planned.

"I expected much more in this African championship in terms of organization. I hope it will be different in the next editions", he said.

It should be noted that the Angolan Inelton Bombo will be present at the Jiu-Jitsu World Games, which will take place from the 7th to the 17th of June in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.

It is recalled that the championship lasted two days, taking place in Luanda. In addition to Angola, athletes from Ethiopia, Mauritius and the DRC participated in the event.
