African Jiu-Jitsu arrives this Friday in Luanda. Sports Minister appeals to patriotic spirit

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, appealed to the patriotic spirit during the African Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which started this Friday, in Luanda.

The official considered that patriotism should be present in the national team of Jiu-Jitsu during the competition, with a view to elevating the country on a par with the sporting results, writes Angop.

Cited by Angop, the head of the Youth and Sports portfolio admitted that this sport is still under development in the country, having augured a good participation in the competition by national athletes.

The championship will take place over two days (Friday and Saturday, March 25th and 26th) at the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion, in the capital. In addition to Angola, athletes from Ethiopia, Mauritius and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will participate in the event.

The opening session of the event was scheduled to take place from 9 am this Friday, with a parade of delegations as well as an intervention by the minister and the start of the fights.
