Yanick Moreira presented at Petro: “I am here at 100%. I will work twice as hard”

The center Yanick Moreira and the winger Anderson Correia are the most recent signings of the main basketball team of Petro de Luanda. Helping the formation in the conquest of the African Basketball League is (BAL) is the main objective of the new reinforcements.

The basketball players' presentation ceremony took place this Monday, at the club's headquarters, with the presence of the institution's vice president for basketball. Anselmo Monteiro mentioned that both players were hired to eliminate some gaps in the main team: "Our primary objective is BAL as we know, but we also have the possibility with the presence of these two reinforcements, to be able to play in the national championship and also to fight for the title and in all the competitions that will be played here", he said, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

Anselmo Monteiro highlighted the qualities of the two athletes and advanced that the contracts are valid until the end of the season with the option of renewal.

In his first statements as a Petro player, Yanick Moreira revealed that he will work hard for the team to achieve its goals. "I'm 100% here. I'll work twice as hard because it won't be an easy championship finals for us. I hope to continue working to help my teammates evolve."

The international, 2.11 meters tall and 30 years old, arrives in Angola after a visit to Greece, revealing that negotiations with the tricolors begin in December 2021.

Anderson Correia, from Cape Verde, reiterated that he will make a lot of effort to also help the group. "You can expect everything from me. I will give everything I can to the club to achieve its objectives in this final stage. We are here to improve," he said.

The two athletes will be integrated into the team from Wednesday, the date on which they carry out their first training session. By his side will be some well-known names from the national public who are also part of the Petro team: Carlos Morais, Olímpio Cipriano, Leonel Paulo and Gerson Domingos.

Participation in the international competition is scheduled for March 9th to 19th in Cairo (Egypt). In the previous edition, Petro was in third place.

In the country, Petro leads the national basketball championship with 38 points, under the command of Brazilian José Neto, with 19 consecutive victories.
