"In compliance with the program of the first of two days in Cuando Cubango, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, led today [Thursday], during the morning and part of the afternoon, the work of the Local Governance Council meeting", can be read in a note made available on the Presidency's Facebook page.
With the participation of the governors of the country's 18 provinces as well as some ministers, the meeting "allowed the assessment of the state of execution of the main structuring projects throughout the national territory, such as national roads, housing, schools and hospitals".
In addition, information was also provided on the Ravine Containment Program, the panorama of covid-19 as well as the vaccination program against the disease. Matters related to the Program for the Conversion of the Informal Economy - PREI and the progress of the Official Electoral Registration were also discussed.
"Among the decisions made at the meeting, emphasis is given to the measure that grants provincial governments the management of built or under construction centralities", the note indicates.
In addition to the meeting, during the afternoon of Thursday, the President, accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, "visited an exhibition of rural products that represents the work carried out in the different municipalities of the province of Cuando Cubango".
