Works on Luanda's road network will cost 268 million dollars

The President of the Republic approved an expenditure of 268 million dollars for the execution of a work contract aimed at deep interventions in Luanda's road network, over an extension of 120 kilometres.

According to the presidential order published in the Diário da República, a simplified contracting procedure (direct adjustment) will be opened for the improvement of the road network, in the amount of US$268 million, which includes in-depth interventions over an extension of about 120 kilometers, including the respective inspection services.

Interventions include repairing holes and replacing pavement, construction of sidewalks and curbs, implementation of a surface drainage system and cleaning of collectors, repair/construction of the public lighting system, horizontal and vertical signaling and tree planting, including nine intervention streets. one-off.

The diploma mentions that, in addition to the roads that have been intervened in the province of Luanda, there are interventions contracted in more than 29 streets in various municipalities, which, however, did not cover the entire road network in the province.

The governor of the province of Luanda is empowered, with the power to sub-delegate, of approving the parts of the procedure, as well as verifying the validity and legality of all acts performed within the scope of said procedure, for the conclusion of the corresponding contracts.

The Minister of Finance is authorized to register the project in the Public Investment Program and ensure the necessary financial resources.

In other diplomas, the chief executive, João Lourenço, approved spending on infrastructure in several provinces.
Among these is an addendum to the contract for the Bita water supply project, in Luanda, which was stopped due to an administrative-contractual impasse.

The addendum provides for a value of US$25 million to restore the economic and financial balance of the contract and authorizes the board of directors of Empresa Pública de Águas - EPAL to enter into an addendum with the company Centro Cerro Angola - Empresa de Construção Civil e Obras Públicas, SA, as well as the subcontracting of the company Saint-Gobain Pam Canalisation.

Addendums were also approved to the contract for technical assistance and supervision of the construction of the hydroelectric plant of Laúca, in the amount of one million dollars, with the consortium formed by the companies COBA - Consultores de Engenharia e Ambiente, S.A. and Lahmeyer International GMBH.

The same document also revealed the award by simplified contracting of a contract for the construction of a compact Water Treatment Plant - ETA for the reinforcement of the water supply system to the city of Ndalantando (Cuanza Norte) and the award of an inspection contract of the contract for the electrification of the Dembos Triangle, including the municipality of Nambuangongo, in Bengo province, with a global value of five million dollars.
