Luanda needs a tourist roadmap to guide people about the capital's activities

The creation of a tourist route and a cultural poster are key to boost tourism in the capital. The idea was defended this Thursday by Dionísio da Fonseca, Luanda's vice-governor for Political, Economic and Social Area, who says it is necessary to create these elements to guide and enlighten people about the activities that exist in the capital.

The official asked local administrations to support initiatives that promote Youth, Culture, Tourism and Sports and stressed that it is not up to the Government to be the promoter of activities in these areas, but to define strategies for the realization of these initiatives.

Cited by Jornal de Angola, Dionísio da Fonseca said that municipal administrations must also be prepared "to welcome the initiatives of young people, culture makers and tourism promoters" that seek them out.

The deputy governor of Luanda for the Political, Economic and Social Area, who was speaking at the first provincial methodological meeting of Culture, Tourism, Sports, Leisure and Youth, also stressed that it is up to the local administrations to listen to the ideas of young people and of people linked to art and culture, in order to guide and inform them about the regulations that are linked to this type of activities.

He also talked about the impact of the pandemic in these areas, stating that the covid-19 has greatly weakened the sectors of Culture, Tourism, Sports and Youth.

The meeting served to discuss matters related to the Activity Plans of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, actions to be developed by local administrations, among others.
