Women's national handball team meets rivals in the 24th African Championship this Thursday

On Thursday, the national senior women's handball team will get to know its rivals in the 24th African Championship, which will take place from June 10 to 20 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The draw takes place in Yaoundé, where Luís Plácido, member of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAAND), will be representing Angola, reports Angop.

Since last Monday, that the national team is in the Dream Space complex. The selection will stay there until Saturday, where they will begin the first phase of preparation for the championship.

According to Angop, the list of players pre-selected is composed by twenty handball players: Ruth João and Liliana Venâncio for pivots; Vilma Nenganga, Helena Paulo and Marília Quizelete in the position of centrals; Teresa Almeida, Paulina Silva and Eliane Paulo for the position of goalkeepers; Juliana Machado and Natália Kamalandua in the right ends; Vilma Silva, Natalia Bernardo and Dalva Peres for the left wingers; Vera Kiala, Stelvia Pascoal and Magda Cazanga as left wingers and Wuta Dombaxe, Joana Costa and Dolores Rosário on the right side.

Along with Angola, Senegal, Cape Verde, Madagascar, Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire, Guinea, Algeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo are part of the list of qualified teams for the championship. Kenya is also in the competition, but as a substitute.
