The memorandum will be initialed this Friday, between the supervisory minister, Diamantino Azevedo, and Tetsuhiro Hosono, president of Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (Jogmec).
Under the protocol, Jogmec may also cooperate in the transfer of technology, using the analysis of satellite images and the Geographic Information System, as well as other information about oil and natural gas.
The Geological Institute of Angola (Igeo) and Jogmec also signed a cooperation protocol, the two events being part of a "forum" on investments in the Angolan oil and mining sectors, aimed at the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Angola.
"Diplomats will learn about the focus and business opportunities with institutions such as the National Oil and Gas Association, the oil company Sonangol, the state diamond company Endiama and the Diamond Trading Company," said a note.
The ambassadors are also going to visit some facilities in Igeo's geo-scientific laboratory.
