MPLA says demonstrations "do not create jobs" and asks families for patience

The MPLA recognized that many companies and citizens live in “situations of poverty” and urged families to wait for better days and “discipline their members to control their moods”, noting that “demonstrations do not generate jobs”.

:

"We recognize (...) that many companies and families still live in situations of scarcity, poverty, unemployment for youth, which requires work and better conditions, this is a challenge that is placed in the hands of all Angolans for, together, we will overcome all the difficulties ", affirmed this Wednesday the president of the parliamentary group of the MPLA, Américo Kuononoca.

The parliamentary leader of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola intended to transmit a message of courage to families and youth, stressing that, in a crisis environment, "it is family solidarity, social solidarity and volunteering that can alleviate suffering and scarcity" .

The MPLA politician's position was presented in his political statement alluding to the seventh extraordinary plenary meeting of the fourth legislative session of the fourth legislature of the National Assembly.
Aware of the current socio-economic difficulties faced by various families and companies across the country on a daily basis, he urged, especially young people, to observe "discipline and obedience", considering that, although it is a right, "demonstrations do not generate employment".

"It is never the demonstrations that solve other needs of our populations, but the desire to overcome, with a patriotic spirit, with professional competence, discipline, obedience, the offer and cooperation between workers and the employer, this is that allows us to overcome ", defended the politician.

Citizens from different social strata, especially young people, have recently promoted several demonstrations, in Luanda and in the interior, demanding better living and employment conditions, improving living conditions and holding local elections, among others.

Américo Kuononoca also urged young people to overcome difficulties "with resilience" and "never with hatred between classes or groups".

The more affluent "must show solidarity with those who have less, the State must exercise its function and families must educate and discipline their members to control their spirits hoping for better days", he encouraged.

"Not by confronting authorities, not by harassing or threatening other citizens, not by mocking the condition of others in agony or distress, but by promoting the spirit and dignity of each of us," he added.

The constitutional revision proposed by President João Lourenço was also one of the themes listed in the speech by Américo Kuononoca for whom the head of state and leader of the MPLA "are the reason for political stability" in the country.

For the MPLA deputy, the punctual revision initiative of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola (CRA) signals "responses that João Lourenço has given to different situations presented by civil society".

"We hear and read hasty messages that rush to find fault or impose doctrines that we do not reap in our society, with suspicions and suspicions imagined by the prophets of skepticism and pessimism, because they disagree or do not understand the meaning of the President of the Republic's initiative" , shot.

However, he noted, the discussion in the plenary session in parliament, on March 18, which approved the admission of CRA's revision proposals for the consequent discussion in parliament's specialized committees, "has already largely clarified the main points of contention".

In Wednesday's plenary session, parliament also passed the law amending the Law on Environmental Conservation Areas, with only favorable votes from the MPLA, aiming to accommodate the exploitation of mineral resources, oil and gas in protected areas.

Amendments to the law on Conservation Areas, argued Américo Kuononoca, "respond to the aim of ensuring a balance between preserving the environment and guaranteeing the survival of future generations by seeking to know the resources existing in the subsoil".
