PR exonerates Benguela governor who will be replaced by Huíla

President João Lourenço exonerated this Wednesday the governor of Benguela, Rui Falcão, who will be replaced in office by Luís Nunes, who thus leaves the post of governor of Huíla, announced the Presidential Civil House.

:

Luís Nunes will be replaced in Huíla by Nuno Bernabé Mahapi Dala, until now vice-governor of this province for technical services and infrastructures.

Rui Falcão has been pointed out in the press as a critical voice of the Executive, on a collision course with João Lourenço, and would have already expressed his desire to leave his position.

Two weeks ago, the President went to Benguela and visited a hospital in Baia Farta and a textile factory, awarded to the Zimbabwean group Baobab Cotton, but some uncertain information about the investments may have displeased the Chief Executive.

Luís Nunes, linked to Omatapalo, one of Huíla's largest construction companies, was appointed provincial governor in September 2018.

Omatapalo has been one of the main beneficiaries of public contracts in the term of Joao Lourenço, but the company has always rejected any irregularity in the relationship with the State.
