The information was transmitted to Lusa by the director of the FAF technical council, Geremias Simão, stating that the decision comes in the light of the communiqué of the Interministerial Commission to Respond to the Covid-19 Pandemic, which, on Tuesday, asked that events be avoided with more than 200 people.

As a fulfillment of the measure, the game between 1º de Agosto and Bravos do Maquis, in the first leg of the Angola Cup semi-finals in football, took place at the 11 de Novembro stadium, in Luanda, behind closed doors.

According to the federative leader, "if necessary" they may also suspend the games "if the government authorities so wish".

On Tuesday, Geremias Simão had said that "there was still no justification" for the suspension of national championship games and the restriction of crowding of fans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, admitting that the restriction of the public in stadiums was an issue be equated.

Angola, without confirmed case records, is developing contingency plans and control measures.
