Japan donates 1.5 million for demining and construction of school in Luanda

The Government of Japan announced this Friday that it will donate more than US $ 1.5 million to Angola for three demining projects in the provinces of Moxico, Cuanza Sul and Cuanza Norte.

According to a note from the Japanese embassy in Angola, this donation made through the assistance program for community human security projects of the Japanese diplomatic mission in Angola, also includes the construction of a primary school in the province of Luanda.

The execution of these demining projects, notes the note, will guarantee the safety of transporting people and goods of the local population, transforming the mined areas into arable land, with the hope that the projects will contribute to the renewal of data on the demining plan. in the country and the improvement of schooling conditions around the city of Luanda.

For the demining project in the village of Luso, Moxico, 647,059 dollars were allocated, to be implemented by the Mines Advisor Group, and for the municipality of Cela, in Cuanza Sul, 442,650 dollars were allocated, to be carried out by the Association of Angolan Professionals Mine Action Plan.

As for the demining of the municipalities of Cambambe and Cazengo, in Cuanza Norte, the Japanese Government provided US $ 282,540, to be implemented by the Norwegian Popular Aid, and for the construction of the primary school in Kilamba Kiaxi, Luanda, US $ 137,376 was donated, under responsibility of the Arnald Janssen Childcare Center.

The Government of Japan has supported the implementation of 66 projects in the demining, agriculture, health and education sectors, through the Community Projects and Human Security Assistance Program, since 1990, which total a value of US $ 12 million.
