The meters will be installed by the Empresa Pública de Águas de Luanda (EPAL-EP). According to Ilídio Cruz, commercial director, this installation will make it possible to correct discrepancies in the prices of consumption taxes charged to consumers.
For now there is no date set for the installation to begin, but, according to the responsible told Angop, the urbanization KK5000 will be the first to receive the meters.
As for the issue of water supply cuts in some of the urbanization gardens, the commercial director said that as the water used for irrigation is drinkable it must be paid for. At the moment, he said, it is being negotiated between the residents and the municipalities who will be responsible for paying for the consumption of the gardens.
