Moroccan doctors in Angola to help shorten hospital waiting lists

Since Sunday 1st March, 22 Moroccan doctors have been in Angola reinforcing the services of the General Hospital of Luanda. The aim is to reduce the waiting lists of national hospitals.

:

The arrival of clinicians in our country was the result of a partnership between the Saham Foundation and the Office of the First Lady. According to Angop, the partnership aims to shorten the waiting lists of national hospitals and help Angolan health professionals with more complex surgeries. In addition, the idea is also to allow patients who were waiting for permission to be operated on abroad to be operated on in Angola.

Moroccan professionals will be on Angolan land until next Saturday, March 7 and, together with 28 Angolan specialists, will operate on around 500 patients. The 22 clinics from Morocco will operate in the specialties of Urology, Otorhinolaryngology, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery.

The choice of patients to operate was previously made by several Angolan health professionals who work in different hospitals in the capital.

The team of Moroccan doctors is also supported by the Moroccan Embassy in Angola.
