Government wants to replace technical plants and will ask the BAD for more than 500 million to do so

The Government has decided to ask the African Development Bank (BAD) for 530 million dollars in financing to proceed with a project to replace thermal power plants. The request has already received the green light from the President of the Republic.

:

The executive wants to change the "current and expensive" thermal power plants. The objective of this project is that the cost of electricity production will decrease and become more profitable for the country.

According to the presidential decree, to which Novo Jornal had access, this replacement also aims to reduce "non-technical losses" and "dependencies on state subsidies," to ensure that "the Executive's efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability and lay the foundations for strengthening the electricity transmission and distribution system in Angola" are efficient.

The agreement will be signed by the bank and the government, which will be represented by the Ministry of Finance.
