According to a police spokesman in the province of Bié, José Daniel Capingãla, quoted this Monday by the press, the six pastors were arrested on Saturday in the municipalities of Cuito and Nharea for holding religious services with a crowd of more than 35 faithful.

The religious leaders and the three moto-taxis, arrested this Monday in the municipality of Andulo, for an exercise contrary to the indications of the authorities, are accused of "crimes of disobedience".

A presidential decree on the state of emergency in Angola to contain the spread of the new coronavirus, which began last Friday and is expected to last 15 days, prohibits the agglomeration of more than 50 people and the exercise of mototaxi.

Angola has already registered two deaths of people infected by Covid-19 out of a total of seven positive cases, as Health Minister Silvia Lutucuta announced on Sunday.

Public and private public transport should only carry a maximum of "one third of passengers", in relation to its capacity, under the state of emergency, which also prohibits the movement and permanence of people on the public highway.
