In addition to Adão de Almeida – who is participating in the event representing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço –, the Angolan delegation is also composed of the Angolan ambassador to France, Guilhermina Prata, the director of the Institute for Administrative Modernization (IMA), Meick Afonso, as well as staff from the Civil House of the President of the Republic, says the government, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
This "high-level event promoted by the French Government" began on Monday at the Grand Palais in Paris, where it will continue until Tuesday.
"The summit brings together figures from the global political, technological and business scene in the French capital, with emphasis on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, and several heads of the largest global technology companies," the statement said.
The first day of the event, "was dedicated to interaction and technical approach", while on Tuesday, the second and last day of the high-level event, "the opening and closing sessions will be led by French President Emmanuel Macron".
"On the sidelines of the meeting, President Emmanuel Macron hosted a dinner for heads of state, leaders of international organizations and government representatives from several countries at the Palais de l'Élysée," the statement said.
This summit takes place "in a context of exploring opportunities for the adoption of public policies and regulation of the use of artificial intelligence in Angola, an increasingly relevant topic today", the government note also points out.
