Totalenergies and Exxonmobil sign agreement and continue to search for Angolan “black gold”

The National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) has signed an agreement that will enable the study and evaluation of the potential of the free areas of block 17/06 and block 32/21. Totalenergies and Exxonmobil are companies that will once again 'look for' fossil fuel in Angolan territory.

The prospecting agreement was initialed last Friday, the 14th. Signed by ANPG, the chairman of the Board of Directors, Paulino Jerónimo, Totalenergies, his director general, Martin Defontaines and Exxonmobil, the Director-General, Katrina Fisher .

For Paulino Jerónimo, this signature marks the agency's commitment to increasingly make the development of the oil sector in Angola: “It is the executive's policy to attract investments, so our work is to facilitate processes. We will drill back in the Cretaceous. About eight years later we pierced the Well Dália Deep and the result was good. That's why we are prepared here to evaluate the rest of the block in the deepest part. We have already demonstrated on several occasions that we are here to facilitate the work. We will continue to promote and wait for you to continue to invest, ”said the national dealership PCA.

Martin Deffontaines believes in the project and states that with 6 FPSS in block 17 and block 32 there are installations ready to bring new barrels to the ground. “With the signing of this agreement today, we have the ambition to identify targets that can be drilled quickly. With Exxonmobil and Angolan state support, we made deep water history when the sunflower production began. Thanks to our experience, the knowledge of the area and the fruitful collaboration of our teams, I am confident that Totalenergies and ExxonMobil, we are in the best position to write a new chapter, ”said the total officer in a statement sent to Verangola.

Katrina Fisher, who congratulated the executive for the excellent business environment, stating that Angola remains an important and strategic country in the Exxonmobil portfolio. “We are proud to be part of this agreement, as we demonstrate our continuous commitment to Angola, where we have been operating for over 30 years. Also present at the meeting of the ANPG administrators, the senior vice president of exploitation of totalgies and high leaders of ANPG, Totalenergies and Exxonmobil.

In case of successful study, the conclusion of this agreement will bring state benefits, with the conclusion of concession contracts for each free area of ​​the blocks.
