The company informs, in a statement sent to VerAngola, that the regular cargo services it operates through the new airport began on January 29th of this year.

"This weekly cargo transport service (departing Luanda on Mondays) connects Angola to the regional destinations of Lagos in Nigeria and Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo", the note states.

According to the flag company, "customers and partners in this niche market now benefit from greater convenience, availability and resources for cargo transportation, speeding up the import and export of goods within the African continent".

Remember that, recently, the company incorporated the Boeing 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) freighter into its fleet, which is the plane used on these flights. "The freighter has the capacity to transport up to 24 tons of cargo distributed over 141.5 cubic meters on the main deck and 43.7 cubic meters for transporting bulk cargo on the lower deck. The B737-800 accommodates up to 10 pallets in the 96x125 inch format ", adds the document.

In January this year, the national airline transported around 1000 tons of various cargo between domestic, regional and international destinations.

TAAG also informs that the start of regular cargo flights from 'Dr. António Agostinho Neto' is "aligned with the subsector's vision, for the capitalization of Angola's new airport infrastructure and consolidation of Luanda as a regional hub, given its geostrategic location".

The company also says it is "committed to its competitiveness and sustainability, consolidating its strategy of progressively increasing its participation in the regional African air cargo market".
