The head of state, who reacted at the time of the minister's swearing-in ceremony, said he hoped for an improvement in the quarter-finals reached by the Angolans in CAN2023, which was played in Côte d'Ivoire, in 2024.
"We hope for good results in the years to come. We have the CAN challenge in exactly one year, which is just around the corner. It is now that we must start preparing, not only for qualifying, but also to achieve a better result than the one we did this year in Côte d'Ivoire", he said.
The government official also called for the preservation and management of Angolan infrastructure.
"We appreciate that, when it comes to sport, you pay particular attention to the maintenance and management of sports infrastructures, training and school sports," he said.
Angola reached the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN2023), a phase in which it lost 1-0 against José Peseiro's Nigeria, in Abidjan.
