According to the minister – cited in a statement from the Ministry of Health, to which VerAngola had access –, patients with kidney failure, who live in the province of Cunene, "from this year onwards, will be assisted for the first time" in the aforementioned hospital.
Speaking this Tuesday, as part of an observation visit she carried out to the works of the future Cunene hospital, the holder of the Health portfolio also said that the "inauguration of the hospital is scheduled for within two months, in April".
"We had some constraints that have now been overcome", explained Sílvia Lutucuta.
Therefore, in order to better monitor the final stretch of the works, a team was created at the central body. "To better monitor this phase of completion of the works, a multidisciplinary team from the Central body was created and will remain in the province on an alternating basis to carry out close monitoring", the note reads.
In addition to the hemodialysis service, the minister highlighted that the hospital unit will also have "highly complex medical-surgical facilities such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, traumatology, high complexity, intensive care of national reference, all medical specialties, intensive care of neonatology, high complexity pediatric service, area to treat burns with an isolation room, urology, pathological anatomy, among others".
