Interclube loses and is late for the top places of Girabola

Interclube, coached by Portuguese coach Luís Gonçalves, lost this Wednesday to Sagrada Esperança, by 1-0, in a match for the 17th round, and was late in the fight for the top places in the Angolan football championship.


Walter Monteiro scored, in the 16th minute, the only goal of the match, which helped Sagrada Esperança equal Interclube in fourth place, with 28 points.

Desportivo da Huíla, under the command of the Portuguese Paulo Torres, drew 1-1 in the reception to Recreativo do Libolo, with Adó Pena, in the 16th minute, scoring for the home team, before Caneta, in the 22nd minute, restoring equality for visitors.

On the other hand, 1.º de Agosto beat Maquis, in Luanda, by 2-1, and share the leadership of Girabola, with Petro de Luanda, from Alexandre Santos, both with 35 points.

Venâncio, in the 18th minute, and Liliano, three minutes later, scored the hosts' goals and Chico reduced, in the 47th minute.

Wiliete de Benguela and Isaac, also from Benguela, drew 0-0, while Sporting de Benguela and Desportivo da Lunda Sul also 'annulled' each other, with a 1-1 tie.

Brazilian striker Tiago Azulão, from Petro de Luanda, leads the list of top scorers, with 13 goals, followed by Kaporal, from Académica do Lobito, with eight, and Julinho, from Interclube, with five.
