Luanda is the second stage of Macron's visit to Africa with agricultural partnership on the agenda

The French President visits Luanda on Friday, in what will be the second stage of Emmanuel Macron's African tour, accompanied in the Angolan capital by entrepreneurs from the agri-food sector, infrastructure and energy, with a view to partnerships in the agri-food industry.

Macron presented this Monday at a press conference in Paris the general lines of his visit to Africa that will take him to Gabon, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRCongo) and the Republic of Congo, countries with which France intends to strategic partnerships.

According to a document from the French presidency, Macron, who will arrive in Luanda after passing through Gabon, will be accompanied by top officials from French companies in the agri-food sector, infrastructure and energy "interested in participating in the country's agricultural development", from production to distribution.

The businessmen will participate, along with actors from the Angolan private sector, in an economic forum, in the presence of the French President.

In addition to the private sector, Franco-Angolan cooperation in agricultural matters involves projects to support small and medium-sized farms, through the French Development Agency, as well as professional agricultural training and revitalization of the coffee sector.

Emmanuel Macron also has an educational plan on his agenda, with emphasis on School 42 in Luanda, which will open its doors in April, with higher education in programming and information technology open to all, with the minimum age required to access higher education.

The first 'campus' of the School 42 was launched in Paris in 2013, and there are currently 48 establishments in 27 countries.

The Luanda project was born in 2021 and will provide Angola with a first-class IT campus, supported by quality equipment.

The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, had announced last week a solemn session in honor of the French President, on March 2nd, but the Élysée press dossier makes no reference to this matter.
