Parliament to discuss the general proposal of the General Labor Law

The proposal for the General Labor Law will be discussed and voted, in general, on February 23, in the National Assembly, announced the first secretary of the board, Manuel Lopes Dembo, after the conference of leaders.

The document, which will be amended for the second time in at least seven years, aims to reconcile the interests and rights of employers, workers and society in general, with the Government admitting that the law in force is out of step with reality, especially with regard to contracts fixed-term contracts, women's rights and compensation for dismissals for just cause, and the inclusion of new concepts, such as teleworking, is still new.

On the agenda of the National Assembly, on the same day, the discussion and vote on the legislative authorization bill, which authorizes the President of the Republic, as holder of executive power, to legislate on the amendment of the Tax Regime Applicable to the Oil Concession of the Maritime Zone of Cabinda.

The deputies will also appreciate the Draft Resolution that approves, for ratification, the agreement that creates the tripartite Free Trade Area between the Common Market for East and Southern Africa, the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community.
