Felipe VI and Letizia arrived in Luanda on Monday, Angola being the country chosen by the two monarchs for their first visit to sub-Saharan Africa.
Before the meeting with the Chief Executive, the Spanish Kings will pass through Praça da República, where they will lay a wreath on the sarcophagus of President António Agostinho Neto, and are due to meet João Lourenço at mid-morning.
In an interview given to the Spanish newspaper ABC, João Lourenço showed interest in more Spanish investment and closer cultural and educational ties within the scope of "pan-Iberism".
A decoration ceremony and the signing of agreements are also planned at the Presidential Palace, followed in the afternoon by the inauguration of an exhibition by the Catalan painter Joan Miró, and a meeting with the Spanish community.
The following day, the Spanish King and the President will speak at the Business Forum and interact with businessmen from both countries.
On Wednesday, the kings of Spain will also visit the National Assembly and the Museum of Military History, before returning to their country in the afternoon.
