According to CEAST spokesman, Belmiro Chissengueti, the first plenary meeting of Angolan bishops will take place until next Monday, in Benguela province, and at the end a pastoral note will be produced on the elections.
General elections in the country are scheduled for the second half of August 2022, as established by the Angolan Constitution.
The symposium on the first 30 years of evangelization in Angola, the ongoing study of the concordat heritage, the week of national solidarity, promoted three years ago by Cáritas de Angola, are some of the points under consideration at this plenary session.
Catholic bishops will also attend, in Benguela, the episcopal consecration ceremony of Father Estêvão Binga, the auxiliary bishop of Benguela, after being appointed by Pope Francis.

The Catholic bishops of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé (CEAST) will issue a pastoral note on the general elections in Angola, scheduled for this year, after their first plenary assembly, which begins this Tuesday.
