Parliament passes bill on petition right

The parliament unanimously approved this Thursday, in the final global vote, the proposed law on the right to petition, an initiative of the UNITA parliamentary group.

:

According to Angop, the diploma opens doors for citizens to make their complaints and petitions to the National Assembly, safeguarding the exercise of citizenship.

The plenary session also approved the Law on National Police posts and badges, which aims to distinguish the various ranks of republican institutions, the Anti-Doping Law in Sports and the Law on the Right of Popular Action, a legislative initiative by the executive.

The Anti-Doping Law "essentially aims to protect the health of sportspeople and ensure that sports results truly correspond to the performances of each athlete", considering it a crime to encourage sports managers to use doping substances by athletes, according to Angop.

The diploma aims to harmonize the legal regime in the fight against doping with the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and the International Convention against Doping in Sport and the World Anti-Doping Code.

Among the sanctions of the Anti-Doping Law in Sport, in situations in which the athlete tests positive, there is the loss of the medal and his removal from all competitions.

Sports practitioners, as well as all those who are covered by the doping ban, who participate in official sports competitions, regardless of their nationality, will be obliged to submit to doping control, under the terms of this law and complementary legislation.
